I should have added a note to my last golf-log that I would only not try too hard on a day with nothing on it. Today was the Oscars Wednesday Club. $5 tournament with a $30 voucher for the winner. That is worth having a crack at. It was a beautiful day, well worth a bit of effort to play well.

Have a crack I did. I matched Thursdays 40 shots for 20 points, today, on the front nine, then excelled on the back nine, with 38 shots for 22 points. An overall 42 points is a very good score. The best round I have had since April/2026. This round will definitely hurt my handicap (checked a day later and my handicap has dropped 1.2 shots). It is very nice to see my name up in lights again.

I am very happy with second, bit of cold hard cash is always nice ($25). Today's card is full of pars and bogeys and only one double bogey for the day. Very chuffed with myself and I am now hoping all those 'must do betters' from the last few months are gone. Hopefully it is now "He's Back!!".

On a completely different note. When I was in Australia recently, on holiday, part of my partners things to do list was to obtain a stuffed Koala. I spent days looking for just one Koala. It was very disappointing to go into Australia's leading toy store chain, and find that not only did they not have any Koalas, they did not have any Kangaroos either. Whenever we went anywhere different on the trip we would go Koala hunting. After eight days, out of my 14 day trip, I was starting to wonder what had happened to all the Australiana stuffed fauna. If I wanted a Pokemon, Panda, Elephant, I could get those by the thousands in multiple different sizes. We were at my Aunty and Uncles in Raleigh, New South Wales, and we had had our brunch in a small town called Urunga. Across the road was a toy store and an art gallery. We went across to the toy store and asked after the Koala population which was zero. Went next door to the art gallery, same question, expecting the same answer, but the woman said 'Yes, we have one'. It took her a minute to find it, but all of a sudden my search was ended. I had a Koala.

We went op-shopping a couple of days ago, and out front of the shop is a bin of stuffed toys $1 each. So I look in there, lo and behold!, whats this? a Koala two for one special! So we now have Daddy, Mummy and baby. Happy partner, happy life!!!

We have had a few Spring storms go through lately. Thought I had better get a pic of our pink bush before the flowers get blown off.
