TCG Caliph (CL-1915)
Two ships of this class of scout cruiser were ordered from Great Britain in 1914, but with the outbreak of war the ships were cancelled and the material that had been gathered was worked into two of the British C class cruisers. These were not sophisticated ships, the machinery was kept at triple expansion with a speed of 24 knots which was considered enough of a margin over the 21 knot battleships that were also on order.
