The buggy is back! Me too.

I had not had a round of golf since my match against Geoff on the 13/06/2026. The influenza I had really knocked me down and it has taken me awhile to get my breath and a bit of strength back. Today was the day. New month new me.

Off to the golf course where I went and took a photo of the first hole with the buggy and the mountain. The normal four turned up and a friend of the group Bob Barnard made us a five. I had said I was happy to let them go as a four but they insisted I join them. So off we went.

The only one of us to play well was Bob who ended up with 39 points for 3rd place, well done Bob!! The rest of us only had ourselves to blame for our paltry scores in the 20's. My putting was particularly poor with too many three putts to get a decent score. I would be on the green for two or three and three putts later score one or two points. Finished the round with 28 points for 43/50. Must do better!

My highlight of the day (the one that will take me back next week) took place late in the round on the 15th hole. Nice drive down the middle, 4 hybrid to a foot from the pin. Yee hah, great shot!! I even managed to sink the putt for a birdie. Four points on my card looked odd, with all the other zeros, ones and twos.

I had not expected much of the day and that was what I got. It was a beautiful day to play golf with enjoyable company so it was very pleasant. Just what I needed. The big question, did I pull up lame after my round. Happily I can report no worse wear and tear than any other round lately.
